- Social Media Campaigns
Social media campaigns have become a huge part of marketing today. People use social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, etc. to connect with people they know and find out about their products and services. These platforms allow brands and businesses to create content that engages audiences while providing them with information about their product or brand. In addition, these platforms give companies a chance to connect with potential customers by responding to comments left on posts, uploading short videos, and posting pictures. By using social media, companies can reach hundreds of thousands of consumers at once without paying television or radio advertising costs. Companies have also been able to target specific demographics based on their interests and what they post online. One example of this would be if a person like a particular type of clothing or style, then brands could pay to advertise to them directly. Brands should focus on creating social media accounts that are active on different platforms including Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter. A business should always make sure to respond to any questions consumers may ask about its products or services on social media networks.
- Smartphone Apps
Smartphone apps are a great way to keep track of everything happening in the world around you. Businesses can create smartphone apps that help consumers do things like book appointments, find local businesses, receive notifications, and get exclusive deals and discounts. There are many different types of mobile application programming interfaces (APIs) that provide developers with access to data stored on smartphones and tablets. APIs are useful tools for app makers because they let programmers build applications that make information available to users in ways not possible before. For instance, a company may require its employees to download a program that lets them check emails. An API built into the email client makes it possible for the employee’s app to pull relevant email updates and present them to the user. Many popular smartphone apps are created using APIs. Mobile apps have proven to be extremely successful forms of communication between consumers and businesses.
- E-commerce Websites
E-commerce websites are online marketplaces where buyers can find sellers based on their preferences. Sellers can list items for sale on e-commerce sites such as Amazon, eBay, Etsy, etc. Buyers browse through listings until they find something they want to purchase. After selecting an item, buyers simply checkout. If the item arrives safely, the buyer pays for the item and receives it via a shipping service. Buyers can buy almost anything from e-commerce stores including electronics, clothes, furniture, home decor, books, toys, etc. E-commerce websites are becoming increasingly popular among consumers looking for quality items at affordable prices. Smaller e-commerce websites like Etsy allow consumers to shop for items designed by indie artists.
- Online Stores
Online stores act similarly to traditional retail stores and offer goods for sale. Consumers can order items online and pick them up at a store. Items sold online include clothes, household supplies, food, pet supplies, entertainment, books, music, DVDs, sports equipment, and much more. Because the internet enables transactions to take place 24 hours a day, seven days a week, online stores have become an excellent tool for salespeople who previously relied solely on brick-and-mortar retail locations. Many major retailers have moved some or all of their operations onto the web. Best Buy currently operates two online stores offering products similar to those offered at physical Best Buy. Overstock.com offers over 1 million products for sale and ships them to shoppers anywhere in the world. Overstock began selling products online in 1998 and now generates nearly $1 billion annually in revenue.
- Video Streaming
Streaming video is a great way to share content with friends, family, and even the whole world. Users can watch a movie online while simultaneously chatting with others via text messaging. Services such as Netflix and Hulu permit viewers to select movies and TV shows to stream instantly. Viewers can choose from a wide selection of programs on streaming services and enjoy watching them immediately after downloading them.
